BAM! Camp Calgary

We are so excited to launch our new name BAM! Camp Calgary (Building Allied Musicians) and share our 2024 programming with you!

But first let’s reflect on an amazing 10 year run as Girls Rock Camp Calgary!

From finding our legs in the Inglewood all ages space the New Black Centre in the very beginning, to years crammed in the trailers at U of C, to finding our new home at Bow Commons, it has been a really special ride.

We’re so grateful for the long-term and continued support from our early partners Long & McQuade Calgary, OCL Studios, The Ship & Anchor Pub, CJSW, Twinbat Sticker Co, and our growing collaboration with Big Kitty Magazine, Bow Commons, and Discover Bowness.

This year we are thrilled to offer a camp in March during spring break AND in August! Thanks to some funding from Calgary Arts Development, we can offer both camps and additional workshop programming throughout the year – stay tuned for those workshops!

We will be switching to a submission based registration this year, in an effort to give more opportunities to those who aren’t as able to jump at a first come, first serve registration system. Submissions for our spring break camp will open January 5, 2024 and run until January 19, 2024, at 11:59PM MST.

One very fun thing we did as our last camp as Girls Rock Camp Calgary was record footage intended to pay homage to the intro to Freaks and Geeks – school photo style. Please enjoy our first music video ever, to the music of camp band Deer Diary and their song Vegan Hotdog.
